How results are ordered: alphabetically by institution, or by most recently checked when you choose that sort. There is no price ranking, because tuition in different currencies, fee categories and bases (per year, per credit, whole program) is not comparable. A program appears under a subject only through a verified link (dedicated degree, major, concentration or documented pathway). A value we could not verify is shown as “not published”, never as “no”. Items marked Sponsored are paid placements; they never change verification or order. Online programs are not counted as physically located in a state or city, and an institution’s location does not tell you whether it enrols students from your country.

About art education in Spain

How art education is organised

Spanish art education is mostly delivered as a four-year Grado (240 ECTS) in a Facultad de Bellas Artes, followed by an official one-year (60 ECTS) or one-and-a-half-year (90 ECTS) Máster Universitario and a doctorate. Design is taught either in university faculties and attached centres (for example Elisava, BAU and ESDI, which award degrees through universities) or in public Escuelas Superiores de Diseño (ESD, EASD) whose four-year higher artistic education degrees are listed at MECES level 2. Titles follow the pattern 'Grado en Bellas Artes' or 'Máster Universitario en ...' rather than BFA or MFA. Languages of instruction are often Spanish plus Catalan, Valencian, Basque or Galician, with some English.

Qualification structures

Names and levels are local to Spain. Similar names in other countries are not interchangeable.

The Escola d'Art i Superior de Disseny de València lists its four-year, 240-credit design degrees as MECES level 2. Source

Bodies that matter, and what each one does

Accreditation, validation, education authority and qualification registers are different roles. Do not read a listing by one body as evidence from another.

AQU Catalunya
Catalan university quality agency; Elisava states its degree is verified by AQU Catalunya.
ANECA
Spanish national agency whose favourable report is cited for the UPV/EHU degree plan.

Credits and qualification framework

Credits are ECTS; per-credit tuition is common on public university pages (for example the UPV lists a price per credit for its master's), and some pages state different prices for EU/resident and other international students.

No degree on this site guarantees admission, funding, employment, a visa or teacher registration, and nothing here is visa or credit-transfer advice.

Languages and admissions

Teaching languages. escaeuglen

Admissions and portfolios. University degrees are applied for through the regional university preinscription system with a cut-off mark (the UPV lists a nota de corte and number of places); design schools and private centres set their own admissions. Check each institution's current page for places, languages and dates. Source
