About Art Schools Worldwide

What this is

Art Schools Worldwide lists institutions with art and design degrees, the campuses where they are taught, and the specific bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs they run. For each program we record the official award (BFA, MFA, PhD, BA, MA, BDes and locally named titles, never relabelled), the subject and how the program belongs to it, delivery and study intensity, teaching language, portfolio requirements, tuition, funding and any recognition record. Each fact carries a source and a date.

Institutions, campuses and programs are kept separate. Accreditation, fees, language and duration belong to the individual program and campus, not to the university as a whole.

What it is not

• It is not a university, an admissions authority or an accreditation body, and it is not affiliated with any. Nothing here guarantees admission, funding, a visa, employment or teacher registration.
• It is not a league table. Our researched selections are unranked, state their criteria and limitations, and cannot be bought.
• It is not an application service. Applications are made on each institution’s own website.
• It does not cover every program yet. Coverage is tracked by destination and, in the United States, by state; gaps are shown as gaps.

How it is funded

Basic factual profiles are free. The site is funded by clearly labelled sponsored placements and advertising; see the sponsorship disclosure. Payment never buys verification, reviews, editorial recommendations or a place in our selections.
